Carol Mausehund earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Eastern
Illinois University in 1981. She has taught music at St. Mary School since August
of 1993.

Each year Mrs. Mausehund and her students present a Christmas Concern in
December and have also presented spring musicals. Each year the children look
forward to learning songs about the Presidents and about the 50 States. Mrs.
Mausehund also ends each school year with a lip sync contest. This contest has
become a tradition at St. Mary School.
Mrs. Carol Mausehund - Music
Students in the fourth grade enjoy learning how to play recorders each year. The whole school
participates in the Picture the Music Contest sponsored by the St. Louis Symphony. An all-school
field trip to the Krannert Center at the University of Illinois campus has been an introduction to
the orchestra for the music students.

Mrs. Mausehund lives in Mattoon with her husband, Clint, who works at the First Mid-Illinois Bank
and Trust, and her daughter, Corinne. She has a studio of piano and voice students in her home,
and she enjoys being a church organist and pianist. She is also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma,
a professional sorority for women in education.
